EAST PRAIRIE -- Leon L. "Bud" Humphreys, 75, of East Prairie died Thursday, April 10, 1997, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
He was born Jan. 8, 1922, in Blodgett, son of Lonnie L. and Agnes Bradley Humphreys. He and Naomi K. Phillips were married Dec. 10, 1949, in Osceola, Ark.
Humphreys moved to Mississippi County in 1981 from Kokomo, Ind. He was a retired building contractor, and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Dogwood United Methodist Church, and Charleston VFW Post 4294.
Survivors include his wife; a son, James Humphreys of St. Louis; a brother, James Humphreys of Carter City, Ky.; two sisters, Olaree Jeffries of East Prairie, Pansy Grider of Kokomo; and three grandchildren.
Friends may call at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie from 4-7 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Harold Norton officiating. Burial will be in Dogwood Cemetery.
