ROCKVIEW, Mo. -- Leon J. "Sonny" Bucher Jr., 79, of Rockview passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2015, at the family home in Rockview.
He was born April 28, 1936, in New Hamburg, Missouri, to Leon Joseph and Clara Turner Bucher Sr. He married Margie G. Green on Oct. 17, 1957.
Leon was a veteran of the United States Army and served in the Korean War.
He was a retired truck driver with McDonald Ready Mix in Cape Girardeau and was the repo man for Benny Martin Car Sales in Chaffee, Missouri. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Chaffee.
Survivors include his wife, Margie G. Bucher of the home; a son, James Bucher; a daughter, Edna Bucher, both of Rockview; two brothers, Dave Bucher of Perryville, Missouri, and Ronnie Bucher of St. Louis; three sisters, Corena Nation of Jackson, Marie Polich of Stoughton, Wisconsin, and Wanda Robinson of Bradley, Illinois; two grandchildren, William Joseph "BJ" Keys and Robert "Bobby" James Alexander.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of service Friday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the chapel, with the Rev. Gwen Streeter officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Advance, Missouri.
