SIKESTON -- Leon Brown, 67, of Jonesboro, Ark., died Saturday, May 30, 1998, at St. Bernard Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.
He was born Nov. 17, 1930, in Lepanto, Ark., son of Melvin and Bessie Pogue Brown. He first married Lois Louise Brown. He and Lesia Marshall were married July 17, 1993.
Brown retired as circulation manager of the Standard Democrat. He attended Rock Hills Missionary Baptist Church in Jonesboro. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Ronald and Jeffrey Brown of Sikeston; two daughters, Phyllis Hicks of San Marcos, Texas, Emily Brown of the home; a brother, Robert Brown of Sikeston; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and a sister.
Friends may call at Ponder Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Ray Broadway and Ralph Marshall officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
