SCOTT CITY -- Leon Albert Scherer, 68, of rural Scott City died Saturday, March 7, 1992, at his home.
He was born April 23, 1923, at Kelso, the son of Charles Adam and Irene Rose Enderle Scherer. On May 26, 1948, he married Emma Rita Compass, who survives of the home.
He was a farmer near Scott City, and a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church of Kelso and Knights of Columbus Council #6420 of Scott City.
Survivors include four daughters, Lee Anna Schultz of Marthasville, Charlotte Knaup of Jackson, Pat Davie of Cape Girardeau and Theresa King of Scott City; a twin brother, Theon Scherer of Scott City; a sister, Aurelia Scherer of Kelso; and six grandchildren.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City, where parish prayers are scheduled for 7 p.m. and Knight of Columbus service for 7:30 p.m. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso. Msgr. John Westhues will officiate, and burial will be in the church cemetery.
