SIKESTON -- Leola Silverthorn, 89, of Sikeston died Sunday, June 1, 1997, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Aug. 15, 1907, in Fordsville, Ky., daughter of Theodore and Effie Ralph Roach. She and Lawrence E. Silverthorn were married Feb. 17, 1927. He died June 9, 1981.
Silverthorn was a member of First Christian Church.
Survivors include a son, Joe Silverthorn of Sikeston; three daughters, Jeno Richards of Sikeston, Linda Gosche of Wichita, Kan., Brenda Ker of Washington, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with the Rev. Ed Pangburn officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
