Leo F. Bruening Jr., 81, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 1996, at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis.

He was born Aug. 30, 1914, in Cape Girardeau, the son of Leo F. and Clara Friese Bruening Sr. He and Daphna N. Sanford were married Aug. 16, 1937.

Bruening was an Air Force aircraft and engine mechanic during World War II and was a composing room printer for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch for 27 years.

Survivors are his wife; one daughter, Debra Jean Williamson of Bloomfield; and one grandson.

He was preceded in death by two sisters.

Friends may call at Lorberg Funeral Home from noon until the time of service Saturday.

Service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Larry Gallamore officiating. Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery.
