ANNA, Ill. -- Leo E. "Gene" Bridges, 65, of Anna died Thursday, June 3, 1993, at the Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born June 12, 1927, at Cambria, the son of Raymond Clyde and Ora Pearce Bridges. On June 27, 1947, he married Mary Lou Roach at Jonesboro. She survives of the home.
He was a member of the Anna United Methodist Church, where he taught the Crusaders Sunday School class for many years. He was a retired correctional officer at Dixon Springs.
Other survivors include two sons, Randy Bridges of Anna and Rodney Bridges of Cape Girardeau; five sisters, Wilda Bettis of Logan, Nelda Holman of Thompsonville, Carolyn Murray of Jonesboro, Linda Mansfield of Anna, and Mildred Smith of Dongola; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. Saturday at the Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Anna United Methodist Church. The Rev. Richard Sullins will officiate, and burial will be in the Anna Cemetery.
