AMITY, Ark. -- Leo Carlson, 80, of Amity, died Saturday, July 13, 1996, at his home.
He was married Aug. 25, 1951, to Billie Hawkins. A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, he was a member of the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Herschel Carlson of St. Genevieve, and Johnny Ray Carlson of Jackson; two daughters, Betty Jean Smith of Arcadia, La., and Billie Welch of Mablevale; four foster brothers, Bill, A.J., W.D. and Jerry McCarley, all of Happy, Texas; three foster sisters, Betty Jean Davis of Blackwell, Okla., Mary White of Austin, Texas, and Myrtle Jo Phil of Canyon, Texas; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the First Baptist Church of Amity with the Rev. John McAnally officiating. Burial will follow in the Friendship Cemetery in Amity with military services by the Honor Guard of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2278 of Hot Springs.
Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home of Glenwood.
