Leo Bock, 90, of Jackson died Monday, Sept. 12, 2016, at the Monticello House.

He was born Oct. 10, 1925, in Cape Girardeau, the youngest of five children to Adolph and May Cobble Bock. He attended Washington School and graduated from Cape Girardeau Central High School in 1943. He was employed by International Shoe Co. for 21 years.

Leo and Leona Louise Schutte Bock were married Nov. 6, 1960, at Salem Lutheran Church in Afton, Missouri. Leona passed away April 1, 1974, in Cape Girardeau.

Leo has been a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau since 1956.

A resident at 1025A Broadway since 1974, Leo was a regular walker along Broadway to Sprigg, Pacific to Normal, and the Capaha Park area well into his 80s. An avid baseball fan, his favorite team from early teens remained the Chicago Cubs.

Until his move to Monticello House several years ago, Leo attended the Saturday evening worship service at Trinity Church. At the residence center, he made friends whom he joined in attending the Cape County Cowboy Church at Oak Ridge, where he made many new friends.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a stepson, Don Nanney; a sister, Alma Bock Wallis; and three brothers, Parker, Howard and Paul Bock.

He is survived by a sister-in-law, Jo Ann Bock; nephews, Burton, Bradley and Brian Bock of Cape Girardeau and Maurice Bock of St. Louis; and nieces, Nancy Wallis Wilkinson of Kirkwood, Missouri, Cathy Wallis Clark of Jackson and Debbie Bock Westbrook of Shelbyville, Tennessee.

A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Loren Boettcher officiating. Burial will be at a later date at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery.
