ALLENVILLE -- Lenore Bertuce Hitt, 81, a retired teacher, died Sunday, Nov. 14, 1993, at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis. She was born Oct. 9, 1912, at Allenville, daughter of Albert J. and Louise Delapp Hitt. ALLENVILLE -- Lenore Bertuce Hitt, 81, a retired teacher, died Sunday, Nov. 14, 1993, at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis.

She was born Oct. 9, 1912, at Allenville, daughter of Albert J. and Louise Delapp Hitt.

Hitt received a bachelor of science degree from Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, and master of science from the University of Missouri-Columbia.

She was chairman of the social studies department at Hazelwood Central High School, retiring in 1977. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Iota sorority, had served as state president, and was currently vice president of the St. Louis chapter.

Survivors include a brother, Albert Hitt of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Ila Marshall of St. Louis, and Anne Wood of Delta.

She was preceded in death by a sister and four brothers.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Florissant Valley Baptist Church, with burial at 3:30 p.m. in Hitt Cemetery near Arbor.

Friends may call at Buchholz Valley of Flowers Mortuary in Florissant from 3-9 p.m. today, and after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
