Leneta L. Buchheit, 86, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Jan. 18, 1998, at Southeast Missouri Hospital. She was born Dec. 30, 1911, at Biehle, daughter of Joseph and Julia Schemel Hotop. She and Albert J. Buchheit were married Oct. 4, 1932, at Biehle. He died Feb. 18, 1985...

Leneta L. Buchheit, 86, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Jan. 18, 1998, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

She was born Dec. 30, 1911, at Biehle, daughter of Joseph and Julia Schemel Hotop. She and Albert J. Buchheit were married Oct. 4, 1932, at Biehle. He died Feb. 18, 1985.

She was a housewife. For five years, she owned and operated Al's Midtown with her husband.

She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral. She also was the housekeeper for St. Mary's rectory for many years.

Survivors include a son, Henry "Hank" Buchheit of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Aurelia "Mic" Weiss of St. Louis; two brothers, Walter and Julius Hotop, both of Biehle; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, two sisters and a granddaughter.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel today from 4 to 8 p.m. Parish prayers will be at 7 and a Knights of Columbus rosary at 7:30.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Cathedral, with the Revs. Richard Rowling and Rand Tochtrop officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
