MOUNDS, Ill. -- Malinda "Lena" Voigt, 75, of Carbondale, Ill., died on Saturday, Oct. 7, 2000, at Carbondale Memorial Hospital.
She was born Nov. 22, 1924, in Mounds, daughter of Edgar and Christina Beaver Koonce. She and Adolph Voigt were married. He died in 1983.
Voigt was a member of the Caledonia Baptist Church in Olmsted, Ill. Along with her husband, she owned and operated Voigt Service Station for many years.
Survivors include a son, Donald Voigt of Mounds; two brothers, Ralph T. Koonce and Charles L. Koonce, both of of Washington, Ill.; four sisters, Helen Mode of Chandler, Ariz., Hazel Robertson of Washington, Dorothy Davis of Beloit, Wis., and Mary Arbon of New Orleans; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter and a brother.
Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Mounds, Ill., from 6-8 p.m. Monday.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Stephen Wolfe officiating. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens in Villa Ridge, Ill.
