Lena Marie Mehner, 86, of Cape Girardeau, died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2003, at her home.

She was born April 30, 1917, in Burdette, Ark., daughter of William and Lula Foster Barksdale. She first married Marvin Blankenship, who preceded her in death. She married Lonnie Mehner in 1948, who died in 1975.

Mrs. Mehner was a nurse at St. Francis Hospital, retired from Florsheim Shoe Co., and then was a private duty nurse a number of years. She was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church.

Survivors include a son, Ronald Blankenship of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, James Barksdale of Westland, Mich., Bill Barksdale of Sikeston, Mo.; two sisters, Margaret James of Portageville, Mo., Thelma Treece of Cape Girardeau; two grandsons, Lionel Blankenship of Lancaster, Calif., and Ronald Blankenship II of Cape Girar-deau.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Paul Short will officiate. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
