LENA E. MIZE

Funeral service for Lena Elizabeth Mize of Cape Girardeau will be held at 1 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel. The Rev. John Gregory will officiate, with burial in Old Morley Cemetery at Morley.

Mize, 85, died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 1996, at Ratliff Care Center.

She was born May 25, 1910, at Morley, daughter of Robert M. and Zoe Welker Murphy. She and Ernest Mize were married Dec. 20, 1926, at Benton. He died Oct. 13, 1981.

Mize was a member of Maple United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Charles and Tom Mize of Athens, Ga.; two daughters, Joan Vaughn of Houston, Texas, Lois Rose of Athens; 20 grandchildren, and 37 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son.
