THEBES, Ill. -- Leland Leon McKee, 84, of Thebes passed away at Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013, at his home.
Mr. McKee was born June 28, 1929, in Thebes, son of the late John Frederick "Fred" McKee and Edna Marie Garner McKee.
Leland was a member of the Alexander Free Will Baptist Church in rural Thebes and was a retired farmer.
Leland was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Vera Dover; and a brother, Vernon McKee.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Jo (Collins) McKee of Thebes; two daughters, Rhonda Sue Stokes (Terry Hunt) of Tarpon Springs, Fla., and Anita Jo (Walt) Grace of Olive Branch, Ill.; two sons, Jerry Leland (Georgia) McKee of Thebes and Michael Lee McKee of Schenectady, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and two special caregivers, Shirley Tucker and Jennifer Arnold.
Friends may call between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Alexander Free Will Baptist Church in rural Thebes.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Alexander Free Will Baptist Church in rural Thebes, with Pastor Earnest Brown officiating. Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Thebes.
