SIKESTON -- Lela Blanche Stone, 90, of Sikeston died Monday, May 15, 2000, at Fountainbleau Lodge in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Jan. 2, 1910, at Gordonville, daughter of Henry C. and Francis Elizabeth Sweet Clayton. She first married Thomas V. Denton, who preceded her in death. She then married Byrd Shelby, who preceded her in death. She later married James Stone, who also preceded her in death.
Stone was a member of Olive Branch General Baptist Church near Essex.
Survivors include four brothers, John Clayton of Zalma, Hubert Clayton of Sedgewickville, James Denton of Springfield, Wilson Denton of Libby, Mont.; four sisters, Oma Pond of Rockford, Ill., Leona Cawford of Puxico, Myrtle Slinkard of Jackson, and Dorothy Fisk of Marble Hill.
She was preceded in death by three children.
Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill from 4:30-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Doyle Carlew will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at Sikeston.
