CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Leevada Lee Hinkebein, 72, of Chaffee died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2004, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Oct. 4, 1931, at Caney, Mo., daughter of Ben Joseph and Ludwina Catherine Westrich Mier. She and Luke Theodore Hinkebein were married Jan. 3, 1951. He died Dec. 29, 1987.
Hinkebein retired as office manager at Hinkebein Construction. She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Daughters of St. Ambrose, and member and past president of VFW Auxiliary to Post 3127.
Survivors include five sons, Glen Hinkebein of Cape Girar-deau, Tom Hinkebein of Jackson, Robert and Mike Hinkebein of Chaffee, Daniel Hinkebein of Fenton, Mo.; a daughter, Mary Duncan of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Leroy Mier of Oran, Mo.; a sister, Leeada Sheeley of Chaffee; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, and two sisters.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee after 4 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 7.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Ambrose Church, with the Rev. Ralph Duffner officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
