LEE POSEY OATS SR.

MOUND CITY, Ill. -- Lee Posey Oats Sr., 62, died Friday, Aug. 6, 1993, at the V.A. Hospital in Marion, Ill.

He was born Nov. 6, 1930, at Cairo, Ill., son of Adam and Lida Oats.

He married Catherine Ballentine in 1950.

Survivors include his mother of Benton Harbor, Mich.; his wife; two sons, Lee Posey Oats Jr. and Charles Edward Oats Sr., both of Unity, Ill.; a daughter, Rosemary Oats of Cairo, Ill.; four sisters, Lou Henry Lilly, Charlie Johnson and Dorthy Rose Burgh, all of Benton Harbor, Mich., Sarah Whickum of Marion, Ind.; two brothers, Collin Oats of Unity, Ill., Julius Oats of Mounds, Ill.; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Oats was buried in the V.A. Cemetery in Mound City, Ill., Friday.
