DONGOLA, ILL. -- Lee Bowman, 80, of Dongola died Saturday, Aug. 31, 1996, at his home.
He was born Nov. 1, 1915, at Dongola, Ill., son of Benjamin and Agnes Hartline Bowman. He married Helen DeRotha Poole on Jan. 31, 1915. She preceded him in death on April 21, 1995.
Bowman was a retired crane mechanic with Laclede Steel Co. in Alton. He was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include a daughter, Brenda Bowman of Jonesboro; three sons, Dan Bowman of Sorento; and David and Frank Bowman of Grafton; a brother, Bill Bowman of Centralia; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held today until time of service. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. today at the funeral home. The Rev. Myron Dillow will officiate with burial at St. John's Cemetery.
