PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Lee R. Bauwens of Perryville died Friday, Aug. 14, 2009, at his home. He was 66.
He was born July 13, 1943, in Perryville, the son of the late Herman and Marie (Cissell) Bauwens. He was married to Cheryl "Charlie" Johns on Feb. 5, 1983, who survives in Perryville.
Lee Bauwens was a superintendent for Weber Group (construction).
He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Perryville Elks and American Legion Boosters.
Other survivors include two sons and three daughters, Tina (James) Amberger, Jim (Linda) Bauwens, Kim (Mary) Bauwens, Gina (Robert) Berger and Dena Bauwens all of Perryville; one stepson and one stepdaughter, Doug (Dawn) Marsh of West Virginia and Kathy Hodgekins of Ohio; one brother and two sisters-in-law, Wayne (Joan) Bauwens and Norma Bauwens of Perryville; 19 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Allan Bauwens.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. Monday at Young and Sons Chapel. A Catholic wake will be at 7 p.m. today, with a rosary at 8:30 a.m. Monday.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with the Rev. Milton Ryan officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Memorial preference is American Cancer Society or Southeast Hospice.
