Leatha Finney

Leatha J. "Lee" Finney, 76, of Belleville, Ill., died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2005, at Belleville Memorial Hospital.

She was born Nov. 23, 1928, in Dyersburg, Tenn., daughter of Buford Thomas and Nina B. Hamilton Arwood. She and Jack M. Finney were married Dec. 6, 1975, in Cape Girardeau. He died Dec. 26, 1988.

Finney was a former secretary at Monsanto Corp.

Survivors include a daughter, Kathy Spalding of Belleville; two stepdaughters, Sarah Webb of McClure, Ill., Sue Greenwood of Denton, Texas; a son, Richard Trask of Belleville; two stepsons, Fred Finney of Maryville, Tenn., John Finney Jr. of Cape Girardeau; a half brother, Buford Arwood of Jackson, Tenn.; three grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two half brothers, a half sister and a stepson.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Paul Short officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.
