Leana F. Essner, 77, of Cape Girardeau, died Friday, July 4, 1997, at St. Francis Medical Center.
She was born Sept. 28, 1919, at Kelso, the daughter of Adam and Alvina Urhahn Felter. She and Anthony P. Essner were married Nov. 14, 1945 in Benton. He preceded her in death.
Essner was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral and St. Ann's Sodality.
Survivors include three sons, Steve Essner and James Essner of Cape Girardeau, Kenneth Essner of Jacksonville, N.C.; five daughters, Denise Wiesner, Marilyn Hughey, July Heuring, Ann Frey and Mary DeLoach of Cape Girardeau; and a sister, Mildred Kiefer of New Hamburg.
Three brothers and a sister preceded her in death.
Friends may call from 4 - 8 p.m. today at the Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel.
Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m. and a K.C. rosary will be at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Cathedral in Cape Girardeau with the Rev. Tom Kiefer officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery.
