DONGOLA, Ill. -- Lealeen Lingle, 84, of Dongola died Wednesday, March 30, 2005, at Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Marion, Ill.
He was born Aug. 10, 1920, in DuQuoin, Ill., son of Lester and Bertha Beggs Lingle. He and Juanita Osman were married Dec. 18, 1943. She died Dec. 28, 1971.
Lingle was a farmer. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.
Survivors include three daughters, Janet Johnson of Murphysboro, Ill., Pamela Ferguson of Anna, Ill., Cynthia Kern of Dongola; two sons, Roger Lingle of Dongola, David Lingle of Austin, Texas; three sisters, Bonnie Miles of Wood River, Ill., Sarah Eppers of Waukegan, Ill., Virginia Russell of Gurnee, Ill.; and six grandchildren.
Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Dongola from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Friendship Cemetery, with the Rev. Jay Franklin officiating. Full military honors will be conducted by Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455.
