GRASSY -- L.B. "Dick" Dinkens, 94, of Grassy, died Wednesday, July 14, 1993, at his home.

He was born April 17, 1899, in Bowling Green, Ky., son of Francis and Mary Williams Dinkens. He first married Lillian Harkey, who preceded him in death. He and Mabel Hendershott Gaines were married Dec. 15, 1950.

Dinkens was a retired farmer, and member of Palmore Chapel General Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife; five sons, L.B. "Jay" Dinkens of Flint, Mich., Bondale Dinkens of Gladwin, Mich., Don Dinkens of Whitewater, Richard Dinkens of Cape Girardeau, Kenneth Dinkens of Advance; five daughters, Margie Welker and Louise Acup of Marble Hill, Wilma Rouggley of Grassy, Berniece Smith of Cape Girardeau, Brenda Spiller of Wentzville; 28 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, four brothers and two sisters.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Liley Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill. The Rev. Bobby Robbins will officiate, with burial in Dan Eaker Cemetery at Hahn.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today.
