SIKESTON -- L.B. Bowie, 74, died Nov. 21, 1992, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
He was born Jan. 28, 1918, in Ludlow, Miss., to George Bowie and Nancy Barns.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army, and worked for Illinois Steel. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Ludlow, Miss., and lived in Dover, Tenn. He was a resident of Sikeston at the time of his death.
His wife, Anna Jones, preceded him in death.
He is survived by two sons, James Jones of Waukegan, Ill., and Leonard Jones of Chicago; three daughters, Shelly Reeves of Sikeston, and Patricia Jones and Jeanette Jones of Chicago; four brothers, Lonzo Bowie of Ludlow, and Dempsey Bowie, T. B. Bowie and Leroy Bowie, all of Chicago; one sister, Dorothy Ware of Chicago; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston. The Rev. David Craig will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.
