Lawrence L. Maevers, 86, of Cape Girardeau died at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau Saturday, Aug. 5, 2000. He was born at Egypt Mills, Mo., July 23, 1914, son of Albert F. and Laura Lueder Maevers. He married Lorene Schwartz. She survives. Lawrence L. Maevers, 86, of Cape Girardeau died at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau Saturday, Aug. 5, 2000.

He was born at Egypt Mills, Mo., July 23, 1914, son of Albert F. and Laura Lueder Maevers.

He married Lorene Schwartz. She survives.

He was an engineer at the power plant at Southeast Missouri State University 15 years. He had also worked for International Shoe Co. and Davis Electric.

He was a member of the Evangelical United Church of Christ in Cape Girardeau.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include a daughter, Betty Lou Vogel, Cape Girardeau; a brother, Frank Maevers, Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Hulda Moore and Lillian Graden of Cape Girardeau; three grandchildren, Gregory Ryan of Oxford, Miss., Bradley Ryan of Orlando, Fla., and Dr. Janice Lou Martin, Overland Park, Kan.; and seven great-grandchildren, Nicholas Ryan, Natalie Ryan, Eli Ryan, Rachel Ryan, Tanner Ryan, Melissa Martin and Michelle Martin.

Funeral will be at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel Monday at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Ernest Jordan officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.

Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 1-2 p.m.
