ADVANCE, Mo. -- Lawrence James, 83, of Advance died Saturday, Feb. 28, 2004, at his home.
He was born Oct. 27, 1920, at Bell City, Mo., son of Joe and Laura Miller James. He and Ruth Ramsey were married Aug. 28, 1940, at Advance.
James was a retired farmer and a graduate of Bell City High School.
Survivors include his wife, one son, Charles "Sonny" James of Malden, Mo.; four daughters, Wanda Lou Bishop, Jo Ann Graham and Joyce Kelley, all of Bloomfield, Mo., and Doris Langston of Advance; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by six brothers.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Morgan Funeral Chapel at Advance.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. Ray Plachet officiating. Burial will be in the Rock Point Cemetery near Advance.
