MATTHEWS -- Lawrence E. Pfifer, 70, of Matthews, died Thursday, Feb. 20, 1992, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
He was born March 25, 1921, at Matthews, son of Leroy and Maggie Marrow Pfifer. He and Sybil Irene Harmon were married Dec. 25, 1939. She died Sept. 30, 1986. He later married Margaret Briels were married May 31, 1987, at Blodgett.
Pfifer had worked at Sikeston Lumber Co.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Edward Pfifer of East Prairie, Morris Pfifer of Sikeston; nine daughters, Sue Martin and Taleca Cutsinger of Sikeston, Barbara McIntyre, Penny Douthitt and Cinda Moore of Morehouse, Janet Harp of Bell City, Pat Layne of Canalou, Pracilla Pfifer of Matthews, Robin Lesley of Essex; a stepson, James McCrary of El Dorado Springs; a stepdaughter, Evonne Warren of El Dorado Springs; a sister, Pearl Channy of Sikeston; 27 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, and two stepgrandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. The Rev. Leon Goff will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery at Sikeston.
