OAK RIDGE, Mo. -- Lawrence Ralph Call, 75, of Oak Ridge died Monday, July 15, 2002, at his home. He was born Feb. 2, 1927, at Jackson, Mo., son of Lawrence and Amelia Englemann Call. OAK RIDGE, Mo. -- Lawrence Ralph Call, 75, of Oak Ridge died Monday, July 15, 2002, at his home.

He was born Feb. 2, 1927, at Jackson, Mo., son of Lawrence and Amelia Englemann Call. He first married Viola Whitney, who died Oct. 16, 1988. He later married Ann Fickle April 3, 1982, in Wheaton, Ill.

Call worked at AT&T and then at Illinois Bell 33 years. He was a member of Loyal Order of Moose, Delta Council and Telephone Pioneers of America.

He served in the U.S. Navy from Jan. 19, 1945, to July 12, 1946. He was awarded the Asiatic-Pacific, Philippine Liberations, American Area and Victory medals.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Terry Call of St. Louis; two daughters, Kathryn Tedrick of Bentonville, Ark., Carol Callahan of Godfrey, Ill.; a brother, William Call of Jackson, Mo.; two sisters, Rosebud Call and Hunter Jean Sewing of Jackson; four grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

There is no visitation.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home. The Rev. Jim Welch will officiate. Entombment will be in Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum, with rites by VFW Post 3838.
