CHARLESTON -- Lawrence C. Townsend Jr. II, known as "Tiger," 28, of Charleston died Saturday, May 4, 1996, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. He was 28. CHARLESTON -- Lawrence C. Townsend Jr. II, known as "Tiger," 28, of Charleston died Saturday, May 4, 1996, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. He was 28.

He was born June 2, 1967, in Charleston to Ruby Hart Townsend of Charleston and the late L.C. Townsend. He was a member of the Class of 1985 at Charleston High School and a member of the Perry Chapel A.M.E. Church.

He is survived by his mother; a daughter, Tramaine Latrice Dixon of Charleston; a son, Lawrence C. Townsend III of Charleston; three brothers, John Townsend and Danny Hart, both of Charleston, and Caesar Townsend of Chicago, Ill.; and two sisters, April and Bessie Townsend, both of Charleston.

Friends may call from 7-8 p.m. Thursday at the Sparks Funeral Home in Charleston.

Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the St. Mark Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Rayford officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery at Charleston.
