Lawrence T. Boos, 78, of Lexington, Ky., died Sunday, Aug. 23, 1998, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center.
He was born in Cape Girardeau, son of August and Emma Griffin Boos. He married the former Gerry Brumleve.
Boos was a graduate of St. Mary's (Notre Dame) High School. He had been a salesman for Carpet World, and was a former manager of J.J. Newberry Department Store in Gallatin, Tenn.
He was a Kentucky Colonel, and member of Sou Chef Ichemdefer. He was a former member of the Lions Club in Danville, and past department commander of American Legion Post 46.
Boos served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. He received the European-Middle-Eastern ribbon with three battle stars, and the Good Conduct Medal.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Carol Royalty of Stanford, Ky.; a son, David Boos of Lexington; three sisters, Geri Huffman of Whitewater, Virginia Eftink of Cape Girardeau, and Rosanna Schallert of Effingham, Ill.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
Friends may call at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home in Lexington from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. George Maynard officiating. Burial will be in Camp Nelson National Cemetery.
