CHARLESTON, Mo. -- LaVonda Jean Payne, 65, a resident of Charleston, died Sunday, March 19, 2017, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born Jan. 6, 1952, at Charleston to the late Robert Bradley and Allie Inez Dilley Bradley Brown, she lived in various places throughout the country before returning to Charleston in 2010.
On Aug. 5, 1977, she married Lanny Raymond Payne, who preceded her in death Sept. 3, 1993.
Surviving is her life partner of 25 years, Larry Ray Jones Sr. of Charleston; two daughters, Penny Leigh (William) Rosado of Millersville and Mary LaVonda (Willie) Jackson of Cape Girardeau; a stepson, Larry Ray (Lana) Jones Jr. of Charleston; a stepdaughter, Misty Jones of Charleston; a brother, William "Bill" Bradley of Charleston; three sisters, Mary Inez Garrett, Edith Boyd and Ann Rosson, all of Charleston; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Besides her mother and father, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Jamie Annette Knupp, and her stepfather, Thomas Roy Brown Sr.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until the time for the memorial services at 4 p.m. Saturday at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Kevin Sexton will officiate.
