CAIRO, Ill. -- LaVona Myers, 94, of Cairo died Monday, Oct. 20, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Jan. 19, 1909, in Berkley, Ky., daughter of George and Melissa Dycus Blackburn. She married Barney F. Myers, who died in 1983.
Myers had worked at R.G. Dunn Brokerage Co., was a supervisor with Home Telephone Co., later was a receptionist at Flint Bondurant Medical Group. She was a member of Church of the Redeemer Episcopal Church in Cairo.
Survivors include a daughter, Carla Kobler of Cairo; a son, Sandow Myers of Cairo; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
There is no visitation.
Funeral Mass will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Church of the Redeemer, with the Rev. Arnold Hoffman officiating. Burial will be in Beechwood Cemetery at Mounds, Ill.
Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo is in charge of arrangements.
