Laverne Ruehling

ALTENBURG, Mo. -- Laverne D. Ruehling, 74, of Altenburg died Saturday, June 26, 2004, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born July 9, 1929, at Pocahontas, daughter of Hugo and Anita Boehme Petzoldt. She and Dillman Ruehling were married Dec. 29, 1947, in Altenburg.

Ruehling was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenburg, Trinity Lutheran Ladies Aid and LWML. She was also a Sunday school teacher and church choir member.

Survivors include three daughters, Gail Cox of Jackson, Mona Woodard of Silver City, N.M., Lois Pallo of Bonne Terre, Mo.; a sister, Vivian Fiehler of Frohna, Mo.; a brother, Larry Petzoldt of Hutchison, Kan.; four grandchildren; a great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a grandson.

Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Young and Sons East Perry Chapel.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenburg, with the Rev. Ronald Paseur officiating.
