LAVERNE PARKER

PARMA -- Laverne N. Parker, 79, of Parma died Friday, Jan. 14, 2000, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

She was born Oct. 30, 1920, at Campbell, daughter of Samuel L. and Daisy Graibel Northington. She and Marvin Parker were married Dec. 23, 1945, at New Madrid.

Parker had lived in Parma the past 18 years. She had also lived in Turkey, India, the Philippines, and Egypt. She was a member of Parma United Methodist Church and Order of Eastern Star.

Survivors include her husband; two brothers, Billie and Jimmie Northington of Malden; two sisters, Maxine Bailey and Gail Thompson of Malden.

She was preceded in death by a son, a brother, and two sisters.

Memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Parma United Methodist Church. The Revs. Almarie Reynolds and Richard Ditweiler will officiate. Burial will be in Dexter Cemetery at Dexter.

Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Parma is in charge of arrangements.
