Our beloved wife and mother, LaVerne K. Koeppel Miller, age 77, of Jenks, Okla., departed this life Thursday, Oct. 27, 2005. Born May 27, 1928, in Cape Girardeau, Mrs. Miller was raised in Jackson and spent much of her young adult life in Wyoming and Colorado. In 1971 she married Charles D. Miller of Wichita and moved to Kansas, where she continued a successful and fulfilling career as a secretary. She retired from the Boeing Company in 1989...

Our beloved wife and mother, LaVerne K. Koeppel Miller, age 77, of Jenks, Okla., departed this life Thursday, Oct. 27, 2005.

Born May 27, 1928, in Cape Girardeau, Mrs. Miller was raised in Jackson and spent much of her young adult life in Wyoming and Colorado. In 1971 she married Charles D. Miller of Wichita and moved to Kansas, where she continued a successful and fulfilling career as a secretary. She retired from the Boeing Company in 1989.

LaVerne and Charles traveled often during their retirement, but were happiest spending time at home together. They made their home in Jenks beginning in 1999. LaVerne's greatest joy was her family.

Survivors include husband Charles Miller, a daughter, Marcie McKenzie of Los Lunas, N.M., a son, Rusty Russell of Nashville, Tenn., a grandson, James McKenzie of Los Lunas, two sisters, Carolyn Owsly and Dorothy Barnhart of Missouri, and the family of Leona Ann Wiggs Newell of Tulsa and Enid, Okla.

Her warm and loving soul helped anchor a close, caring family, her smile inspired a thousand dreams, her kindness lifted hearts all around her.

LaVerne died quietly at Forrest Hills nursing home in Tulsa, her husband of 34 years by her side.

A graveside service will be held at the city cemetery in Okmulgee, Okla., at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, 2005.
