ALTENBURG, Mo. -- LaVern S. Hughey Telle, 81, went to be with our Lord and Savior Friday, Oct. 21, 2011.
She was born Nov. 28, 1929, in Altenburg, daughter of the late Joseph and Sarah Darnstaedt Schmidt. She and Joseph Glenn Hughey were married Sept. 4, 1949. He preceded her in death Feb. 9, 1986. She then married Clinton Scotty Telle Aug. 1, 1998.
Mrs. Telle was a school cook. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, LWML, and sang in the choir.
Survivors include her husband of St. Louis; three sons, Ken (Judy) Hughey of Manhattan, Kan., Michael (Autumn) Hughey of Altenburg, Richard (Peggy) Hughey of Overland Park, Kan.; three stepchildren, Duane (Brenda) Telle and Scott (Martha) Telle of Troy, Mo., Donna (Bill) Baumhardt of Imperial, Mo.; two sisters, Gertrude Lohmann and Sylvia Armstrong of St. Louis; seven grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two great-stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call at Young and Sons East Perry Chapel from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 6:30 to 8:15 a.m. Monday.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenburg, with the Rev. Steven Dressler officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Memorials are preferred to KFUO or Trinity Lutheran Church.
