Lavene Kinnison Blankenship, 70, of Dexter, Mo., died Sunday, Sept. 17, 2000, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
She was born March 15, 1930, at Sturdivant, Mo., daughter of Elvin and Jessie Pearl Walker Proffer. She first married Frank Kinnison Dec. 18, 1949, in Piggott, Ark. She later married Don Blankenship March 15, 1983, in Cape Girardeau.
Blankenship was formerly of Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Mark Kinnison of Perryville, Mo., Rick Kinnison of Dallas, Texas; a daughter, Phyllis Boren of Cape Girardeau; three stepsons, Bruce and Randy Blankenship of Jackson, Mo., David Blankenship of St. Louis; two stepdaughters, Donna Bruce of Sioux City, Iowa, Michele Blankenship of St. Louis; two brothers, Robert Proffer of Godfrey, Ill., Jack Proffer of Garland, Texas; a sister, Patsy Sherman of Dexter; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Mausoleum.
