Laurene A. Loeffler, 84, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2010, at the Lutheran Home. She was born Nov. 20, 1925, in Columbus, Ohio, to Joseph and Mary Sauer Eisel. Laurene A. Loeffler, 84, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2010, at the Lutheran Home.

She was born Nov. 20, 1925, in Columbus, Ohio, to Joseph and Mary Sauer Eisel. She and John Loeffler were married 65 years ago in Columbus.

They lived there more than 50 years, moving to Cape Girardeau 26 years ago. Mrs. Loeffler worked in business and financial planning as an executive secretary. She was an accomplished pianist and served as a volunteer typist at Saint Francis Medical Center many years.

Survivors include her husband, John Loeffler of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Florence Johnson (Dr. David) of Cape Girardeau; two sons, John Loeffler (Karen) of Columbus, Gerald Loeffler (Kathleen) of Edgewood, Wash.; four grandchildren, Dr. Colleen Moore (Mark) of Springfield, Ill., Philip (Lori Lester) Johnson of Lake St. Louis, Mo., Stephanie Hunt (Joel) and Brian Loeffler of Columbus; a stepgrandchild, Max Schroeder of Edgewood; five great-grandchildren, Nolan and Kinley Johnson of Lake St. Louis, Stuart Moore of Springfield, Ava Laurene and Reagan Hunt of Columbus.

She was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home. Parish prayers will be at 7.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with the Rev. David Hulshof officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Vincent de Paul Building Fund or Notre Dame Regional High School Foundation.
