Laura Ann Palmer Simms, 69, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, May 26, 2024, at Mercy Hospital Southeast.
She was born Sept. 11, 1954, in Hayti to Josh and Mary Helen Duncan Palmer.
She and Daniel Simms were married Feb. 6, 1970, at Caruthersville. He preceded her in death April 10, 2000.
She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and her dog, Baby.
Survivors include her companion of 40 years, Rocky Jones of Cape Girardeau; two sons, Danny Simms of Cape Girardeau and Jeffrey (Rochelle Watkins) Simms of Scott City; two daughters, Jessica (Derrick Sander) Simms and Jennifer (Derek Bollinger) Simms both of Scott City; honorary son, Matthew; sister, Debbie (Jim) Parish of Fort Smith, Arkansas; four brothers, Terry (Sheri) Rokosh of North Carolina, Rob Rokosh of Fort Myers, Florida, Josh (Kristina) Palmer of Chaffee and Jess (Kari) Palmer of Fort Myers; 11 grandchildren, Devan (C.J.), Megan, Charli, Danielle, Xavier, Zach, Clayton, Brayden, Rylan, Ezra and Isaac; three great-grandchildren, Chase, Marissa and Makenna; and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her parents; stepmother, Donna Palmer; ex-husband, Daniel Simms; and two sisters.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, June 2, at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
Memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 2, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Laurie White officiating.
