CHARLESTON -- Laura Pemberton, 80, of Charleston died Friday, Jan. 10, 1992, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
She was born Feb. 4, 1911 in Ripley County, the daughter of Dr. George and Susan Spencer Belcher.
She had lived in Mississippi County since 1937 and was a member of South Side Baptist Church in Charleston.
On April 3, 1926, she married Elbert Pemberton. He preceded her in death Nov. 29, 1969.
One son, three brothers and three sisters also preceded her in death.
She is survived by two sons, Jessie Pemberton, Rockford, Ill., Kenneth Carl Pemberton, Cape Girardeau; three daughters, Dorothy Sitton, Winnebago, Ill., Geneva Webb and Deloris Wicker, both of Charleston; two sisters, Nola Hill, Bertrand, Mae Cates, Charleston; 16 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after 4:30 p.m. today at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Glenn Rogers, pastor of South Side Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston.
