LAURA JANE MCCARTER

OAK RIDGE--Laura Jane McCarter, 72, of Oak Ridge died Friday, June 9, 1995, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born June 16, 1922, at Madison County, Ill., the daughter of Paul and Paulene Britton. She married John Ezra McCarter, who preceded her in death.

Survivors include three sons, John Ezra McCarter III of Cape Girardeau, Thomas C. McCarter of Sedgewickville and Michael D. McCarter of Champaign, Ill.; two daughters, Laurel Smith of Poplar Bluff and Rory Houston of Oak Ridge; three sisters, Verla Largent and Alexia Gale of Jefferson City and Billie Travers of Florida; 20 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by four grandchildren.

Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Glen Allen Cemetery, with the Rev. Gene Robbins officiating.

Baker Funeral Home in Marble Hill is in charge of arrangements.
