Laura Ann Henry, 62, passed away peacefully Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016, at her home near Millersville.
She was born July 24, 1953, in Oakland, California, to John and Hanna Holman O'Neill. She and Steve Henry were married Dec. 1, 1979, in Bloomfield, Missouri.
Laura was a 1971 graduate of Jackson High School and a 1975 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University, earning a bachelor of science in secondary education.
She briefly taught school in Zalma, Missouri, and taught several years at Cape Girardeau public schools. Upon earning her agent license in real estate, she worked at Thomas Meyer Realty. She and Paula Salzsman co-owned and operated the former County Seat Realty in Jackson. She most recently did private residential cleaning until her health rendered her unable.
Laura was a member of the Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall in Jackson. She enjoyed swimming, water skiing and horseback riding and was an avid lover of animals.
Loving survivors include her husband of 36 years, Steve Henry of Millersville; a daughter, Beth Davis, and her son, Paul Davis, of St. Louis; her mother, Hanna O'Neill-Petersen of Carmel, California, formerly of Jackson; a brother, John (Zochil) O'Neill of Cape Girardeau; a nephew, John Ryan O'Neill of Sacramento, California; and a niece, Jessica O'Neill of San Jose, California.
She was preceded in death by her father, John O'Neill, and stepfather, Darrel Petersen.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
A memorial service may be announced at a later date.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
