Laura Isbell "Bonnie" Bethard, 97, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Oct. 17, 2016, at The Arbors at Colony Pointe in Columbia, Missouri.
She was born March 3, 1919, in Raymond, Illinois, to George and Sarah Williams Stogsdill. She and Eldon Bethard were married Feb. 19, 1938, at Terre Haute, Indiana. He preceded her in death Dec. 10, 2014.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau. She always wanted everyone else to shine. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. Bonnie was very quick-witted and always had a song to sing. She loved to cook and wanted to feed everybody and was active and supportive of her husband's career.
Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn Price of Mercer, Wisconsin; three grandchildren, James Brian (Peggy) McGowen of Puxico, Missouri, Sarah Christine (Roy) Phillips of Columbia, South Carolina, and Nanetta Carol (Brad) Beaird of Columbia, Missouri; six great-grandchildren, Arriel (Cody) Smith, Kristen (Tyler) Vincent, Parke Phillips, Ben Phillips, Leam Beaird and Landon Beaird; and one great-great-grandchild, Madilynn Smith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers and three sisters.
A graveside funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating.
