Larry Gene Summers, 77, of Cape Girardeau died in May 2022, at the Lutheran Home.
He was born in December 1944 in Benton, Illinois, to Luther and Lucille Loman Summers. He and Linda Blattel Summers were married in 1977 in Cape Girardeau.
Larry served two years in the Army.
He was a computer programmer at Southeast Missouri State University and a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Summers of Cape Girardeau; sister, LaDonne Suddarth of Port Orange, Florida; three sisters-in-law, Mary Jane Summers of Benton, Vicki (Tim) Raines of Cape Girardeau and Doris Blattel of Jackson; uncle, Joe (Velma) Jackson of Thebes, Illinois; two aunts, Florence Harris of Troy, North Carolina, and Peggy Blattel of Perryville, Missouri; nieces and nephews, Steve (Cathy) Suddarth, Stacey (Jack) Puntney, Jeff Summers, Pam Sprehe, Lisa Wilkerson, Heather (Kody) Newkirk, Jaime (Charles) Williams, Brandon (Nancy) Blattel and Adam Raines; great-nieces and -nephews, Christina (Chris) Suddarth, Cailee (Joey) Underwood, Allie Puntney, Kaya and Kiana Newkirk, Corie, Jalen and Cameron Williams, Boyd and Piper Blattel; and great-great-nephew, Archer Casity.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two brothers-in-law.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral service will follow at the funeral home with the Rev. Alex Sutachan officiating. Burial will be at Fairmount Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
Memorial contributions may be given to Adult and Teen Challenge.
