SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Larry Richard Schoen, 71, of Springfield passed away Thursday, June 9, 2016, at Springfield Healthcare and Rehab Center.
Larry was born Jan. 4, 1945, in Perry County, Missouri. He was a Vietnam veteran. Larry worked as a meat-cutter and then as a sales representative for Pinkerton Tobacco and Leggett and Myers. He retired from Swedish-March.
Larry was preceded in death by his father, Raymond B. Schoen; his mother, Juanita E. Schoen; and two brothers, William R. and Michael L. Schoen.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Schoen, of the home; a son, Alan L. (Christie) Schoen, and grandchildren, Briana, Ballas and Baydon Schoen of Cape Girardeau; a nephew, Bill (Tammy) Schoen, and their sons, Tyler and Ben Schoen of Brighton, Missouri; a brother-in-law, Mark L. (Jami) Schmideskamp; a nephew, Ryan; nieces, Allison and Paige Schmideskamp; and a brother-in-law, Scott Schmideskamp, all of Kansas.
Larry was respected and loved by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Greenlawn Funeral Home South in Springfield, with full military honors.
