POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- Larry McCann, 70, of Poplar Bluff passed away Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2021, at his home.
Larry was born Jan. 11, 1951, to William and Billie Sue Thomas McCann in Sikeston, Missouri. He married Vickie Brown on April 14, 1979, in Millersville. She preceded him in death.
Larry was a retired music teacher from Doniphan (Missouri) Elementary School, as well music director at Temple Baptist Church. Both jobs he worked at for more than 30 years. He was an avid music writer and performer, as well as a St. Louis Cardinals fan.
Larry is survived by a son, Luke McCann; daughter, Mollie (Justin) Hudson; grandchildren, Camren and Jovie Hudson; siblings, Patrick (Deborah) McCann, David (Shelly) McCann and Susan (Tom) Enkelmann.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Vickie McCann, and his parents.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 21, at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Temple Baptist Church, 1813 Barron Road in Poplar Bluff, with the Rev. Steve Patterson officiating. Burial will be Monday at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson. Approximate arrival time at the cemetery will be between 1:30 and 2:15 p.m.
