SIKESTON -- Larry J. Massey, 52, of Sikeston died Friday, Feb. 14, 1997, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 19, 1944, to Charles Wesley Massey and Cora Lee Songer Massey.
He married Athel I. "Cooter" Bailey on Oct. 2, 1970.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a truck driver for Packard Transportation Co. He was a member of Sikeston Eagles Aerie No. 3319 and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife; his mother, of Scott City; five brothers, John Massey of Benton, Wesley Massey of Bertrand, David Massey of Scott City and Jeff Massey and Paul Massey, both of Columbia; and two sisters, Vonnie Latham and Donna Johnson, both of Sikeston. He was preceded in death by one brother Lesley Massey.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Loyd Latham of Sandywoods Baptist Church officiating and the Rev. Dewayne Coleman of Canalou Baptist Church assisting. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston with full military honors conducted by the honor guard of American Legion Post 595 of New Madrid.
