Larry S. Hinkle, 68, of Cape Girardeau passed away Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2021, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
He was born July 13, 1953, in Cape Girardeau to the late Melvin and Louise Richardson Hinkle. He and Jane "Janie" Diebold were married July 1, 1972.
Larry and Janie owned and operated Diebold's Parking Lot Service for 30-plus years.
Larry had a love for and trained Labrador retrievers. He won many field trials with his labs. He also enjoyed remote control airplanes, was an ace with small engines, enjoyed Harley-Davidson motorcycles, country line dancing, and loved to watch the TV series, "Yellowstone."
He was proud of all his family, but his only granddaughter -- Kylie, a.k.a. wabbit -- was his pride and joy.
He is survived by his wife, Janie Hinkle of Cape Girardeau; son, Shawn (Michelle) Hinkle of Cape Girardeau; granddaughter, Kylie Hinkle of Cape Girardeau; brothers, Terry (Millie) Hinkle and David (Sandy) Hinkle, both of Cape Girardeau, and Scott Hinkle of Jackson; nephews, Brandon and Matthew Hinkle; several other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; mother-in-law, Viola Diebold of Cape Girardeau; sister-in-law, Sharon Carlquist of Vero Beach, Florida; brothers-in-law, Gary (Diana) Diebold of Jackson and Ronal Diebold of Frohna, Missouri.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Moe Carlquist, and his grand dog yellow lab, Mitzi Mae.
According to Larry's wishes no services will be held at this time. The family will have a celebration of life at a later date.
