CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Larry D. Heisserer, 70, of Chaffee, formerly of Cape Girardeau, passed away Saturday, March 31, 2018, at Chaffee Nursing Center. CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Larry D. Heisserer, 70, of Chaffee, formerly of Cape Girardeau, passed away Saturday, March 31, 2018, at Chaffee Nursing Center.

He was born Jan. 3, 1948, in San Diego to the late Lawrence J. and Mary W. "Wilma" Beard Heisserer.

Before settling down in Cape Girardeau and Chaffee, Larry had also resided in Bryant, Arkansas, and Springfield, Illinois.

Larry graduated with a bachelor of science in civil engineering degree from the University of Missouri at Rolla. He most recently worked as an engineer for the State of Arkansas.

Larry was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso, Missouri, and was a 50-year member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 6420 and Fourth-Degree Assembly 2283.

Loving survivors include sons, Jason Heisserer and Danny Heisserer; sister, Audrey (Russ) Hodel of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and former spouses, Sherri Heisserer of Springfield and Darlene Heuring of Cape Girardeau.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Augustine Catholic Church, followed by a Knights of Columbus rosary.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. Joe Weidenbenner officiating. Burial will be in St. Augustine Catholic Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Employee Relief Fund, c/o Capetown Assisted Living, 2857 Cape La Croix Road, Cape Girardeau, MO 63701.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
